Today we proudly announce the individuals who join Spendgo’s board of directors. Bill Pearce, former chief marketing officer of Taco Bell; Drew Sievers, co-founder and former chief executive officer (CEO) of mFoundry; and John Durham, CEO and General Partner of Catalyst S+F have all come on board to help lead our loyalty company in the next phase of our company growth. These three executives join Spendgo’s founder and CEO Ivan Matkovic as the current board of directors.
“Bill, Drew and John bring tremendous operational, industry and leadership expertise to the board. I’m confident they will make valuable contributions towards Spendgo’s growth as they support my team in becoming the strongest provider in the digital loyalty space for brands, merchants and consumers,” Ivan says with a smile.
The backstory is that John Durham first met Ivan as a college student at the University of San Francisco in 2008 where Durham is still teaching marketing courses at. “When Ivan first pitched Spendgo to me, the classroom became a natural incubator for his loyalty idea. And for me, the move from transitioning as a company advisor to an investor was a logical next step.”
We welcome Bill, Drew and John to the board and, on behalf of Ivan and the rest of us Spendsetters, we’re excited that these gentlemen will help bring business and technology leadership to our fast-growing company.
Along with our board members, our advisors are also comprised of proven leaders in the fields of retail and customer relationship management (CRM) solutions. Spendgo’s advisors include Joshua Tretakoff, Founder of Loyalty Lab which was later acquired by TIBCO Software for $23 million; Matt Howland, former CEO of Loyalty Lab; and Lindsey Thomas, a VP executive at Westfield Labs, a new global digital arm of The Westfield Group. Their seasoned counsel has been invaluable to us.

About Bill Pearce
Bill brings 26 years of executive leadership in marketing, sales and general management across a variety of categories (health, food and beverage, pet, QSR), channels (food, drug, mass, club, dollar and pet specialty) and geographies (North America and Europe). He is currently a partner and marketing practice director at The Partnering Group, a global consumer products and retail management consulting firm. Under his leadership as SVP and Chief Marketing Officer at Del Monte Foods, he led the company’s turnaround and tripled market capitalization. Prior to Del Monte Foods, Bill was CMO at Taco Bell and vice president of marketing at Campbell Soup Company. He previously held positions at Procter & Gamble and Coca-Cola. Bill has won multiple Effie Awards for his brand leadership and has unique expertise in developing effective commercial and marketing strategies to accelerate top and bottom line growth.
Bill holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics at Syracuse University and an MBA from Cornell.
About Drew Sievers
For over 15 years, Drew Sievers has been creating and delivering technology-based marketing solutions for Fortune 500 companies like AT&T, Continental Airlines, Disney, Lexus, Microsoft, Motorola, Néstlé, Procter & Gamble and Toyota. As co-founder of mFoundry, Drew set out with a vision to help U.S. marketers find a way to finally leverage the power of mobile devices with their customers. As mFoundry’s CEO, Drew led the company’s business strategy and was actively involved in all customer solutions.
Prior to mFoundry, Drew ran the eastern operations for interactive agency NOVO/Blue Marble, which was acquired in 2002 by Bcom3, merged with interactive agency Giant Step and renamed Semaphore Partners. Drew subsequently ran the newly combined entity as President. Before his role at Semaphore, Drew spent two stints spanning five years in Japan as Asia Regional Director for Saatchi & Saatchi. Drew has also held management positions at high-end interactive design shop Cow Interactive and leading ad agencies Wieden & Kennedy and Ogilvy & Mather.
Drew holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Japanese from University of California, Santa Barbara.
About John Durham
John Durham has amassed one of the strongest resumes in marketing with a specific focus on digital marketing and advertising sales since 1995. John is currently CEO and Managing Partner for Catalyst S+F, a marketing capital firm. Previous to that, John was recently President of Sales and Marketing for Jumpstart Automotive Media, an automotive marketing and advertising company, successfully engineering the company for sale to Hachette Filipacchi. Prior to his role with Jumpstart, John was EVP, Business Development, for Carat Fusion and President of Pericles Consulting. John has also been responsible for overall management of Winstar Interactive as President and Chief Revenue Officer for over six years. John also devotes his time teaching as a marketing professor at the University of San Francisco.
About Ivan Matkovic
Ivan founded Spendgo in 2010 at 22 following the advising from his college professor and Spendgo board member, John Durham. During the past three years, Ivan has taken Spendgo from a tiny warehouse with three developers to a national company. Today, he is the CEO of the digital loyalty startup and responsible for company revenue, operations and partnerships. Ivan also serves as the President of Accura Precision, a quick prototype and production manufacturing and machining company. His experience with machining and working with large vendors like Applied Materials, NTK and Fujitsu, was vital in his ability to transition into his leadership role at Spendgo.
Ivan graduated with honors with a degree in Business Administration and Economics from the University of San Francisco in 2008.
